Meet the Instructor
Andrew Eidson’s passion for martial arts began in 1992 when he discovered Judo in junior high, drawn to the discipline, strategy, and artistry of the takedown. His journey evolved in 1999 when he began studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the legendary Paulo Fernando Augusto, eventually becoming one of Paulo’s assistant instructors at one of San Diego County’s largest academies. Having earned his black belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with his Jiu Jitsu black belt tested in São Paulo, Brazil, and registered under the Federação Paulista de Jiu-Jitsu, Andrew now holds a 3rd degree black belt. His teaching philosophy has evolved from creating competitors to fostering a supportive community where families thrive together, making martial arts accessible and transformative for students of all ages and backgrounds.
